Travelling in a VW Campervan can be great fun so let’s look at some of the things that create this experience.
VW Campervans are easy to set up
The set-up process is easy and straight forward. After parking, you just need to plug in your electric and maybe the water supply to the Campervan and you are settled in.
When the campervan is in day mode you will be using the living space as a seating and kitchen/eating area. When you go into night mode you can easily convert the seating areas into bedrooms. If you also go for a pop-top roof, then extra sleeping space is available for more people. Normally the pop-top will take one adult or two children.
The pop-top roof also has the advantage of creating more space when you are parked at your campsite. It adds more headroom and makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

VW Campervan size makes parking relatively easy
Ease of parking is an obvious advantage with a VW Campervan.
On a campsite, parking should not be a problem since the pitches are designed for Campervans of differing sizes. It is probably wise to check in advance that the campsite has availability for your Campervan.
Parking at a Supermarket or town centre should also be ok for most Campervans. If you opt for a short wheelbase, the parking is similar to parking a large car and will fit into a standard car parking space. If you opt for a longer wheelbase, then this could be more challenging, and you may find that you have to seek out a car park that caters for longer vehicles.
Height restriction are also something to watch out for. Most restrictions are for vehicles over 2 meters and since VW Campervans are lower than 2 meters, this is rarely an issue. You should watch out for enhancements to your campervan like bike racks because they may increase your overall height.
VW Campervans normally only require a standard driving licence
According to the UK Government site “You can drive vehicles up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass (MAM)” ( Source: UK Gov) with a Standard UK category B Licence.
Most Campervans will come in well below the 3,500 kg weight so you should not have any issues and just use your existing driving licence.
VW Campervan storage is efficient
There is normally ample room for storage in your Campervan. A lot of the storage can be well concealed, so you avoid the feeling of travelling in a cluttered space.
The VW Campervan has been designed specifically with your comfort while travelling and good storage design has a lot to do with it.
