The Ford Ranger is one of the sportiest looking pickups on sale today.
So you have decided you want to acquire a pick up truck. Is the Ford Ranger the one for you?
I suppose the first thing to ask is why you want a pick up in the first place.

Why do you want a pickup in the first place?
Do you need it for your business? Is it going to be a work horse that has to be an intrinsic part of your everyday business life?
Or do you just fancy the idea of having a super cool looking genuine sporty 4x4 sitting on your drive?
Depending on which of the above applies to you, Ford seems to have it all well covered with their latest Ford Ranger.
It is – in our view – one of the sportiest looking pickups on sale today and it’s available in a range of cab styles to suit pretty much everyone. – There is even a jaw dropping high performance off road version called the Raptor.
If it is a work horse you need and carrying heavy loads or towing is important to you, you probably want to look at the 213HP diesel engine. It can tow up to 3,500KG.
What style of Ranger is best for you?
You also need to make a decision regarding what type of cab you want because in addition to the obvious practicality options, there is a difference in load capacity between each.
For example, a single cab version (no back seats) can carry heavier loads (1,200KG) than super cab or double cabs. And the outrageous looking Raptor has a maximum load capacity of only 600KG. (Mind you, you probably don’t buy the Raptor to be a load carrier!
Obviously the amount of space in the load bay is also dependent on the cab style you choose as well.
Most reviewers seem to agree that the Ford Ranger is generally pretty good to drive and has a decent range of body styles and options to choose from.
The Raptor is one awesome looking machine
There is also general agreement that the Raptor version is pretty unstoppable off road, which of course compliments its aggressive sporty styling. It is also one of the best pickups to drive and delivers a pretty decent ride with its clever suspension set up.
The Raptor certainly makes a statement
Whichever Ranger you choose, you should find it relatively easy to drive around town and it deals pretty well with twisty country roads – given that it is a high riding vehicle.
The Ford Ranger also comes with a number of safety features as standard, including for example automatic emergency breaking. – Probably must have for a pickup these days.
So if you are looking for a pickup that will deal with heavy loads whilst still being decent to drive in the twisty lanes, then you should certainly consider the Ford Ranger.
